Social emotional strategies for teachers in infancy to foster growth in the classroom are, constant interaction and talking to the infants. Making dramatic faces, voices and eye contact can enhance development for babies. For early childhood, cooperative learning activities and positive classroom environment can foster social emotional growth. In adolescents, by giving effective praise, and modeling appropriate behaviors teachers can model and teach proper social emotional development.

Affects that prenatal and early childhood care have on adolescent social and emotional development.
Proper prenatal care can have a great affect on adolescent social and emotional development. Drug use, neglect, abuse, and unhealthy living situations can adversely affect the unborn and newborn baby by putting undue physical stress and emotional stress on the child leading to an inability to process emotions or regulate emotions.
Emotional Milestones
Infancy: smiling, cooing and eye contact
Early childhood: describes likes and dislikes, can label emotions, begins to agree/disagree with ascribed behavior labels,
Adolescence: abstract thinking, absorbing perspectives of others, autonomy from family and independence
Self Regulation
Self regulation refers to the regulate ones own emotions and actions without external bodies, help or input. Teachers can model this by practicing patience, and positivity. They can also use role playing and think-alouds to model proper behavoir.
